Week Four: Persuasive Poster

WEEK FOUR: Persuasive Poster

TITLE: Was it worth it?

TECHNIQUES:
- digital creation
- Photoshop and Illustrator
- Used blending tools and overlays to help encapsulate the image

PROCESS:
1-brainstormed ideas of persuading climate change
2- picked the best one that I could work with (the first image)
3- gathered relevant images from magazines and photocopied them to be used digitally.
4- combined in the appropriate format matching the example sketch
5- used overlay and blending tools to manipulate the images to work together

REFLECTION:
The poster reflects the devastations of climate change and the particular cause of ice caps melting and arctic life being affected. The ice cream develops a representation of relevance to human everyday lives and how devastating 'dropping an ice cream' seems. This helps the audience reflect on what its like for arctic animals suffering worse issues.

This activity challenge my understanding in persuasion and depth of audience empathy. It also challenged my brainstorming skills through the process of gathering what my poster should be. I particularly stepped out of my comfort zone and challenged my digital skills in the making, as I usually feel more confident doing it traditional design processes. In the future, I feel it would be best to add more details and experiment further into the digital platforms to better my manipulation skills.
